Reflecting on the Change of Season

Reflecting on the Change of Season

During a hiking trip in and around Fernie British Columbia, we hiked the Silver Springs Lake Trail. I'd done this hike previously on a trip in the summer years ago with some friends. A great cliff jumping location, with a shocking response to the mountains chilled water. This trip however there was no cliff jumping or swimming. We were too enamored by the striking yellow that the tamarack trees had turned to as the valley began to prepare for winter. A completely different landscape from all those years ago. As we hiked onwards towards the next lake I took a moment to stop and look back. I let the rest of my group go on ahead as I took a moment to myself to sit, appreciate, and capture this shot. As I sat in wait, the wind died down creating a perfect looking glass. Giving me a moment to reflect on the memories this place held and the change between seasons.
