During my trip to the Alberta BC border, I stopped in to visit to Lake Louise as I had only ever been one before years ago. I had started my hike early in the morning trying to beat the rush of other visitors. It was a beautiful, calm, yet cold day in October to be spending in the mountains. I was doing the lower portion of the hike around the lake intending to get up to the upper Little Beehive hike. About halfway up, after having an encounter with a grizzly bear that was far too close for comfort, I turned around and headed back towards where there would be more people starting to show up. On the way down I was letting people I passed know about the grizzly that was just off of the path up ahead. When I finally spotted the Lake Louise Fairmont and increase of visitors, my heart slowed a little bit and I took a second to rest. As I was sitting there admiring the breathtaking landscape that Lake Louise in famous for, the sun began to peak just over the trees and catch the mountain in such a spectacular way. I found my spot just next to this tree at the edge of the water, took a moment to enjoy the stillness of everything and captured this image. To this day, still one of my favourites.
